COFS
With the sole purpose of brotherhood in golf, the COFS, a men’s golf league, was formed in 1999 by a small group at The Links at Mulberry Hill. There are currently 40 members who range in age from 55-89 who play every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. All newcomers are welcome to join as a visitor or to subsequently become a COFS member. On golf days, members meet at 8:00am to draw balls to form teams, and tee off around 8:20am (an hour later in the winter months). Golfers do not have to call to participate; just show up on time and put your ball in the basket. Handicaps are used in all COFS play to in- sure all golfers are competing on an equal basis. Handicaps in the group range from 13 to 30+. The COFS offer an optional benefit for members wishing to participate. For $10 monthly, members can be included in several summer golf road trips.
The Gangsome
The Gangsome, the oldest established group of golfers at The Links, is a group of the Club’s more serious golfers who enjoy playing competitive golf. Handicaps range from zero to the upper teens or twenties. There is no membership cost, but there is a $10 fee per round. The Gangsome tees off Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:00, Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 AM. Tee times infrequently may be subject to change. Golfers interested in playing with the Gangsome should call the Golf Shop no later than thirty minutes before tee times to sign up for that day’s competition.
Men’s Summer Golf League (Thursdays)
For the past two years. this league has been a hit among the men! The league starts in May and continues through August for a regular 12-week season. The last 3 weeks in August are reserved for the Playoffs and Championship Round. Tee time is at 5:30 PM each Thursday night for 9 holes. You must have a USGA handicap in order to play. There is a minimum of six (6) 9-hole scores needed to qualify for the playoffs. So, it’s okay if you miss a few nights during the summer. A full explanation of this league will hit the Pro Shop Bulletin Board in early May. The men gather at the 19th hole after play for camaraderie and to share stories. There is a $50 entry fee.
